GO SHORT-TERM

GLOBAL TRIPS

Cornerstone offer short-term trips that last for 1-2 weeks and are scheduled all throughout the year. The purpose of every Global Trip we plan is to support the overseas workers sent out from Cornerstone and Salt Network churches. These men, women, and entire families have often sacrificed comfort, career, and closeness to home to follow God’s call in taking the gospel to places where it has either been forgotten or never heard before.

Being members of Cornerstone Church includes a commitment to use our God given spiritual gifts for the building up of the church, both here in Central Iowa and abroad. The vision of our overseas workers cannot happen without the consistent prayers and encouragement of their sending church through the joys and hardships of ministering overseas. Global Trips enable our members to use their gifts in a cross-cultural context to care well for those we have sent out. It also opens our hearts and minds to what our great God is doing all around the world!

We have two types of trips: 1) Cultural Exposure trips; and 2) Specialized trips. Cultural exposure trips are open to anyone in our church to go one-time to be a blessing and to be blessed by the experience. Specialized trips are for members that provide a specific skill and on-going commitment to the work in that partnership.

Check out our upcoming trips below!

EAST ASIA | DECEMBER 15-25, 2018

Christmas is an incredible time to share the Gospel in East Asia. They love Christmas!...but don't really know what its true meaning is. Students and professionals can make an incredible impact for the Gospel by coming alongside long-term workers and hosting Christmas parties for university students.

HAITI | MAY 24-30, 2019

Haiti is the most poverty-impacted nation in the Western Hemisphere that has been ravaged with poverty for the entirety of its existence.  \We believe the work of Mission Starfish Haiti is very helpful to the overall state of the nation. This is a great trip for singles, couples, or families that want exposure to what life is like cross-culturally. We have a great partner in Silentor Eshitil- Henderson who desires to expose Americans to the needs in Haiti and encourage them to be advocates for the ministry.

Zambia | Nov-DEc 2019 (Dates TBD)

For more than 10 years Cornerstone has been a part of pastor training, agriculture training, relief and development for orphans at the Hope Center. This trip will provide an opportunity to get to know the people and the place that has been so dear to us as a church and help you know how to be a blessing to this community for years to come.

South Africa | Jan 10-24, 2020

Restoring Hope Village is a group of homes for children that are orphaned, neglected or abused, and gives them a home where often they feel loved for the first time. The goal of Restoring Hope Village is to break the cycle of sickness and death that bring these children to us, and to meet the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of the children God gives us. This is a great trip for singles or couples who would like to experience life in another culture while contributing in a significant way to the lives of children living in an orphanage.
